THE PRINCIPLES OF HONOUR

BIBLE PASSAGE:

 Esther 1:15-19

 “What shall we do unto the queen Vashti according to law, because she hath not performed the commandment of the king Ahasuerus by the chamberlains? And Memucan answered before the king and the princes, Vashti the queen hath not done wrong to the king only, but also to all the princes, and to all the people that are in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus. For this deed of the queen shall come abroad unto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not. Likewise shall the ladies of Persia and Media say this day unto all the king’s princes, which have heard of the deed of the queen. Thus shall there arise too much contempt and wrath. If it please the king, let there go a royal commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it be not altered, That Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate unto another that is better than she”.

I read the story of a young man in the bible named Naboth, a young man with a bright and promising future, but his future was cut short because though he was brilliant and with a promising future; he lacked the principles and the concept of HONOR. He died at his prime because he spoke to the king in a rude and disrespectful way 1kings 21:1-3.

The Lord also carried me to another young man that missed it in life for the same reason of dishonor. His name is Lot. Lot’s father died and Abraham took Lot into his house from the village I presume, clothed and fed him, Abraham gave Lot a shelter and also thought him a business of rearing cattles, but a time came when Lot in his small mind felt he had arrived, pride and dishonor entered him and the bible said in

Genesis  13:7-11” And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other”.

How can you allow your herdsmen to fight the herdsmen of your Uncle? The man who gave you life and a living?

How can you allow your uncle to asked you to choose first after dividing the land and you agreed? Vs 10. A man who honors his father and Uncle will immediately fall flat on the ground and apologize, beg and if possible sack or query all his herdsmen that were involved in this dispeakable act of dishonour but instead Lot kept quiet.

Lot eventually ended up in Sodom and Gomorrah, the city that was later destroyed by God. Lot lost his wife because she turned into a pillar of salt while escaping the fire 🔥 of God at Sodom, Lot almost Lost himself and also his two daughters only for lack of HONOR.

He dishonoured his uncle and got the shocker of his Life.

Dear Reader,

Honour your father and Mother so that your days will be long. Ephesians 6:1

Honour your mentors, your Spiritual parents and your leaders who in one way or the other have affected your life Positively. In the table of greatness, dishonour is a grievous offence.

Honour increases your Favor and Accessibility

The Act of dishonour is the reason for disfavour and closed heaven.

Queen Vashti became so proud because of her beauty and elegance, she Dishonoured the King and her position was immediately replaced. Her royal estate was collected and given to her replacement, Oh Jesus!!! Vashti forgot that the privilege of being the queen was because her husband was the king. Esther 1:15-17.

Beloved brother and sister,
Are you like Naboth, Lot or Vashti?
Don’t bang the door that once gave you entry, you might need it tomorrow.

Don’t bite that precious fingers that once fed you sir, you might need it tomorrow

Don’t Destroy the bridge that once gave you passage, you might need it when returning back.

Dishonour shortens your height and reduces your visibility in Life. Men who understands the principle of Honour are Men of High and great Altitude in Destiny
