ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured. Genesis 39:6.
What you refuse to take illegally today prepares the ground for what is yours legally tomorrow.
Joseph was one Scriptural example of persons who were positively affected by financial integrity and uprightness.
In Genesis 39:6, the Bible says:
And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured. (KJV).
So Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn’t worry about a thing—except what kind of food to eat! Joseph was a very handsome and well-built young man. (NLT)
Potiphar left everything he had in the hands of Joseph. He made him to take charge of everything he (Potiphar) owned. He gave Joseph the upper hand to take charge of all his group of companies and to make any financial decision, yet, no penny was lost.
This is a very rare situation in our generation today. These days, you cannot even give someone money to buy an item and expect him to bring back the balance.
Now, what was the implication of Joseph’s financial uprightness?
In Genesis 41:39-41, the Bible says:
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
Beloved, what you refuse to take today prepares room for what is yours tomorrow. What you refuse to take illegally today prepares the ground for what is yours legally tomorrow. Follow the pathway of Joseph.
