SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
MESSAGE:
Someone once came to visit God’s servant Dr Pastor Paul Enenche in his office. The reason he came was that he wanted to divorce his wife. Everything God’s servant told him fell on deaf ears. He wanted him to approve or validate his decision to divorce his wife.
After analysing everything, of course, he realised that there are situations where men and women could be helpless.
In this particular situation, the man’s wife moved out of the house. And this man begged his wife several times not to move out, but she refused. When you, as a husband, blatantly say that you don’t want your wife again because of minor and trivial issues that can be resolved, it is not right.
After he finished talking to the man, and he refused to be convinced, God’s servant said to him, “Do everything you want to do, but be sure it is what you are ready to defend before God on the last day. If you were to meet God and told Him the reason you divorced your wife, and you are sure right now in your heart that God would accept the reason you gave, then you can go ahead and divorce her.”
That was how they concluded that meeting.
Beloved, in the same way, can you defend and justify your actions now before God when you meet him on the last day? Can you defend the lifestyle of drinking, smoking, fornication, cheating, stealing, lying, backbiting etc, before God? Will you stand before God and tell him the reason you aborted that baby, embezzled the money, engaged in ritual killing, womanized, broke people’s hearts or broke people’s homes?
Can you defend before God on the last day what you are doing today?
Don’t do anything you cannot defend before God on the last day.
Please do only what you can defend before God. Everything does not end here on earth.
Live your life with the consciousness of eternity; always remember that everything we do in this world will be accounted for in eternity. Living your life with the end in mind will discipline your behaviour and impart caution to your actions.
Always Remember this: Don’t do anything you cannot defend before God on the last day.
KEY POINTS:
Don’t live as though life ends here in this world; live with the end in mind.
Live with the consciousness of eternity; let your behaviour, character and lifestyle be godly and Christ-like.
PRAYER:
Lord, I ask that You help me never to live carelessly and worldly in this world. I receive the grace to live with the end in mind so I can live right, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
